Being stuck in side during a snowstorm only means that tomorrows photo shoot will be amazing!
The Storm....
With the warning of an impending snowstorm I knew that I was going to be stuck in my dorms all day. I thought to myself what better way of passing the time than watching YouTube videos and doing homework. It was during that time between doing my homework and watching YouTube videos that I saw a tutorial on having photo shoots in the snow. From that video on I was intrigued, I ended up binge watching photography videos and trying to learn as much as I can. I told myself that if it was possible I was going to test out these new skills.

Snow Day...
After being stuck inside the dorms for the whole day, I knew that by the next day every inch of Central Park would be covered in snow. After spending hours of convinincg my roommate to venture out with me to test what I learned I was able to take some amazing pictures.

I of course had to have a mini photo shoot for my roommate (for her Instagram) since I dragged her out of the dorms.

The Photography...
This was the first time I was able to shoot some nice pictures in the snow. Since I've entered college I have upgraded my big DSLR camera to a small mirror less point and shoot DSLR. Carrying a big camera around New York was a no go for me. Switching cameras made a difference especially in the way I took my photos. I was still unfortunately relying heavily on the Auto mode but I was able to set up scene that worked perfectly well in Auto. I was also able to use some tricks that I learned of YouTube videos to capture sharp, clear images. Images where you can see the details of even the snow on my roommates scarf.
Here are a couple of videos I watched...
