The Challenge:In the fashion industry, the transition from a creative idea to a physical garment requires absolute technical clarity. The challenge was to create a series of high-fidelity "flats" that accurately represent garment silhouettes, seam placements, and material drapes, ensuring that design intent is clearly communicated for production.
The Strategy:I developed a systematic approach to digital illustration, creating a modular library of apparel categories. By applying varying "swatches"—ranging from heavy leathers and denims to delicate florals and 70s-inspired prints—I demonstrated how a single silhouette can be transformed across different market segments.
Design & Technical Highlights:
Material Versatility: Rendered technical sketches using a variety of digital textures, including "Elephant Skin" Black Leather, Red Velvet, Dark Denim, and Red Plaid.
Pattern Engineering: Expertly applied complex patterns such as Chevron, Paisley, and Zig-Zag Strips to 2D flats, ensuring the scale and orientation reflected realistic garment construction.
Category Breadth: The collection spans multiple apparel sectors, including:
Outerwear: Brown and Blue leather jackets, Winter coats, and tailored Grey Ombre jackets.
Evening & Daywear: Wrap dresses in Burnt Orange and T-shirt dresses in Blue Paisley.
Active & Intimates: Leaf and Yellow Floral pattern bodysuits.Detail-Oriented Precision: Focused on technical accuracy in garment features such as hardware (Gold denim accents), feather trims, and specific seam layouts for pants and shorts.
The Result:A professional-grade CAD lookbook that proves my ability to bridge the gap between creative fashion design and technical apparel development.
