The Challenge:Local animal rescue organizations often operate on limited resources, resulting in fragmented digital presences that can hinder adoption rates and fundraising efforts. For South Central Animal Advocates (SCAA), the goal was to build a professional, accessible, and inviting digital platform that could handle the complexities of animal rescue—from volunteer sign-ups to searchable pet databases—while establishing a credible brand voice within the South LA community.

The Strategy:I focused on a "User-First, Pet-Forward" design philosophy. The strategy centered on reducing friction in the adoption process and creating an emotional connection through visual storytelling. By integrating clear UX/UI pathways, I ensured that potential adopters, donors, and volunteers could navigate the site and take action within seconds.

Strategic & Design Highlights:

UX/UI Optimization: Mapped the user journey to prioritize the most critical actions: Adopt, Foster, and Donate.
Non-Profit Branding: Developed a visual identity that feels both professional and compassionate, utilizing a warm color palette and accessible typography to build trust with the community.
Integrated Digital Strategy: Designed the site architecture to support long-term goals, including automated volunteer applications and a direct donation portal.
Community Outreach Tools: Created dedicated sections for community resources, educational content, and "Happy Tail" success stories to foster long-term engagement and brand loyalty.
Responsive Design: Ensured a seamless experience across mobile and desktop, recognizing that many community members access local resources primarily through mobile devices.

The Result:A robust, scalable digital home that empowers SCAA to fulfill its mission more effectively. The new platform doesn't just look better; it functions as a critical operational tool that connects more animals with loving homes and strengthens the organization's impact in the South Central community.

Key Deliverables:

Brand Identity System: A cohesive set of visual assets including logos, typography, and color schemes.
Digital Strategy Roadmap: A plan for utilizing the website to drive social media growth and community participation.
Content Architecture: Searchable databases for pets and streamlined application forms for volunteers and fosters.
